Kevin O’Leary, also known as “Mr. Wonderful,” is a Canadian businessman, author, and television personality. Born in Montreal, Quebec in 1954, O’Leary grew up in a middle-class household and developed an interest in entrepreneurship at a young age. He attended the University of Waterloo, where he completed a degree in environmental studies and later went on to earn an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. O’Leary’s first taste of success came in the early 1980s when he co-founded SoftKey Software Products Inc. with two of his friends. The company, which produced educational software for children, eventually became the largest seller of its kind in the world and was acquired by Mattel in 1999 for $3.7 billion.

O’Leary’s next big move came in 2003 when he joined the cast of the hit TV series “Dragon’s Den,” which later inspired the American version “Shark Tank.” As one of the “sharks,” O’Leary quickly gained a reputation for his sharp business acumen and no-nonsense approach to investments.
